Caleb's Birthday

Hi everyone, this is Caleb! Mom let me narrate this blog post so I can tell you all about my 2nd birthday.

Here is my racecar cake. My favorite part was the "2" on it.

I got lots of great presents!

I wasn't so sure about everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to me.

But those candles were pretty interesting!

It wasn't all about me... we celebrated the other February birthdays in our family too.
(But it was mostly about me! Isn't everything?!)

Cake with frosting? Ice cream? No way!
I'll consider this plain cake, but only after I'm done playing with these cars.

I guess it's pretty tasty. Glad I gave it a shot.

This is the next day, my acutal birthday. I decided to play some golf.

And still one more present to open! Happy birthday to me!

Bowling

The boys are crazy about bowling right now. They spend most of their play time setting up "pins" (which are mostly train set accessories) and knocking them over with a variety of balls. It all started with Noah bowling on the Wii, and soon after he began setting up his own bowling alleys around the house. You have to watch your step in the kitchen, or you may accidentally knock over some pins and incur the wrath of Noah!

Caleb knocks down pins by holding the ball in his hand.
Noah sets up intricate patterns of pins, sometimes as many as 22 pins.

Going for the spare!
Caleb prefers a more haphazard arrangement of pins.

Nice shot!
Caleb may be the only 2 year old whose vocabulary includes "Strike Turkey!"
Sometimes Brett and I join in the fun. However, we generally have a shorter attention span for bowling than the boys do!
Who knows how long this bowling obsession will last? We think it's really cute.

I didn't forget about this blog...

... although everyone else might have by now! And sorry to say, but I have taken a pitifully small number of pictures in the past month. Here's what you get:

Noah proudly displaying an art project we made together. (It's a pig.)

Noah learning how to conduct at a "Meet the Orchestra" concert for kids.

Caleb diplaying his fine table manners. His new habit lately is to push his chair backward so he can put his feet on the table. The open mouth full of celery is because he saw the camera and said, "Cheese!" I have my work cut out for me here!
I will try to do more picture taking and posting this month. Now that I am in my 2nd trimester and feeling better, I can do more than just try to survive!
